Terms of service
These terms cover the Broomkit application, the free scanner and any licence you buy. Plain English, because terms nobody reads protect nobody.
Who you are contracting with
Broomkit is published by DPR Software Labs OPC Private Limited, a company incorporated in India. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean that company, and "you" means the person or organisation using Broomkit.

The free scanner
Scanning is free permanently and requires no account, no card and no licence. The full scan, the Disk Map, the large-and-old file finder and path browsing remain available whether or not you ever buy anything, and whether or not a licence you previously held has expired.
What a licence grants you
A licence unlocks Reclaim and the app uninstaller. It is a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Broomkit on the number of Macs stated on the licence you bought — one, two or five. You may move a licence between machines by deactivating it on one and activating it on another; a seat is concurrent, not permanently bound to the first Mac it touched.
Every licence is a single payment that does not auto-renew. A one-year licence stops unlocking Reclaim when the year is up and does not bill you again. A permanent licence does not expire. Prices and tiers are on the pricing section, and the refund terms are on the refunds page, which forms part of these terms.
What you may not do
- Share, resell, sublicense or publish a licence key
- Circumvent licence validation, or use a key beyond its stated Mac count
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the application, except where that right cannot lawfully be excluded
- Redistribute the application as your own, or as part of another product
Licence validation
Activating a licence sends the key and a machine identifier to our payment processor to confirm it is valid — see the privacy policy for exactly what is transmitted. A validated licence works offline for 14 days before it re-checks. A licence that has been refunded, expired or deactivated stops unlocking Reclaim, and the app returns to free scanning mode.
Backups, and the limits of what we can promise
Broomkit moves files to the Trash rather than deleting them, so a removal can be undone until you empty it — but you remain responsible for your own backups. No file-removal tool, this one included, should be the only thing standing between you and data loss. Keep Time Machine or an equivalent running.
The software is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the software will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its categorisation of any given file is correct — which is precisely why every file is shown to you, with its full path, before it moves.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the amount you paid for your licence in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, lost profits or business interruption. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
System requirements and changes
Broomkit requires macOS 14.0 or later and Full Disk Access to function as described. We may change features between releases, including removing a category we no longer believe is safe to offer. Where a change materially reduces what a paid licence unlocks, it will be noted in the release.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections available to you where you live.
